ARCHBISHOP THABO VISITS VULEKA!

On Wednesday 14th October we were honoured by a visit from his Grace Archbishop Thabo and Mrs Lungi Makgoba.  After seeing the four classes at St Martin's Mrs Sharland took Archbishop Thabo and his wife to St Mark's to see the primary school there.  We at Vuleka were thrilled to meet our Archbishop, who is a warm and caring man, with a dynamic and lovely wife.

STAFF REUNION DINNER

On Wednesday 5th August we had a wonderful dinner for present and past Vuleka staff.  Guests of honour were Mrs Susan Germond and Mrs Joy Chilvers (previously Fisher) who founded Vuleka.  Many past members of staff were able to attend, and we presented long service awards – a certificate and a silver cross brooch – to anyone who has been part of Vuleka for 10 years or more.  This was a most enjoyable evening, and a time for old friends to get together and share their memories of past years.

WELTEVREDEN PARK

We are growing our Early Learning Centre at St Michael's, Weltevreden Park into a full primary school.  We started in January with a Grade 1 class, and will grow by one grade each year.  Building of our new classrooms will start in October 2009 and we hope to be finished by June 2010.

A very special service for blessing of the ground was held on Sunday 11th October 2009, the Patronal Festival of St Michael and All Angels.
