Donate and earn BEE points!

Earn BEE points by making a donation to Vuleka.  The Broad-Based BEE legislation is an incentive for all businesses, including small and medium enterprise to become part of the transformation process in our country.

Although companies with an annual turnover of less than R10 million automatically qualify as BEE compliant, many choose to complete a scorecard as a gesture of goodwill or to gain competitive advantage.

Companies with an annual turnover of between R10m and R 35m are classified as a Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE).  QSE’s can currently earn up to 25 points* by making a contribution to a worthy cause that benefits previously disadvantaged individuals. Vuleka qualifies under the new Broad Based Economic Employment (BBBEE) guidelines and can help you earn valuable points.

New BEE Codes of Good Practice were gazetted on the 11th October 2013.

The scorecard now has 5 categories

1)      Socio-Economic Development Charity spend towards black people
2)      Ownership Who owns the business?
3)      Enterprise & Supplier Development Assisting small black owned businesses to grow
4)      Skills Development The amount of money spent on training/developing employees
5)      Management Control (includes Employment Equity) The senior/executive management of a business

As a business owner, you will earn points under the ‘Socio-Economic Development’ category when you donate to Vuleka School.  Vuleka will issue you with an independent letter to verify our compliance, as well as a receipt for you to submit in order to get your points. As Vuleka is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO) your donation is also tax-deductible so you score twice in one go!

If you donate 1% of your net profit after tax you will score the maximum 25 points (as long as the registered NPO is compliant and you submit the supporting documentation).  This means if your profit is R 1m after tax, you only have to donate R 10 000 and you will score your full 25 points.  Get in quick because as of October 2014 the new codes of Good Practice will give 5 points for a Social Economic Development contribution.
